Skydance Paramount is scheduled to start significant workforce reductions the week of 27 October, cutting about 2,000 positions in the United States as part of a budget-saving initiative valued at $2bn under new chief executive David Ellison.
The layoffs follow the union of Skydance Media and Paramount Global, completed this past August with a value of $8.4bn.

Earlier reports had indicated the company was looking to cut between 2,000 and 3,000 positions by early November.
Until December 2024, Paramount had nearly 18,600 permanent and temporary staff and 3,500 contract workers.
