A Pair of Suspects Formally Indicted with Jail Killing of Ex-Lostprophets Vocalist Ian Watkins
A pair of suspects stand accused of murder after the jailhouse death of one-time Lostprophets vocalist and adjudicated child sex criminal Ian Watkins.
The two men, Rashid Gedel (25) and Samuel Dodsworth (43) have both been charged with murder and are scheduled to appear in Leeds magistrates’ court on Monday morning, per law enforcement officials.
Watkins, forty-eight, was in the midst of a 29-year prison term at HMP Wakefield, plus an additional six years on license, after confessing to numerous sex crimes including the tried rape of a very young child.
Watkins was arrested after the execution of a substance-related warrant at his Pontypridd home on 21 September 2012, when a substantial collection of electronic devices including computers, phones and drives were confiscated.
